Book Review: Bloodlines

My Thoughts: This book is set in the same world as Vampire Academy, but with a different narrator. I wasn't sure if I was going to like Sydney as a narrator or not, since I didn't feel like I had gotten to know her enough in the Vampire Academy books. But, as I read Bloodlines, I started to like Sydney more and more. She's loyal, passionate and fair. While she isn't as strong or protective as Rose, she has a softer and more emotional side, which I really enjoyed seeing.

Both Rose and Dimitri make an appearance in this book, but I have to say that it felt a bit weird to read about them from Sydney's point of view.

Along with Sydney, Adrian, Eddy and Jill are the main characters of this book. I loved to read about Adrian & Sydney's constant banter, and how they slowly became friends. Jill was a pest in this book, she acted so selfish and whiny all the time. And Eddie, he still felt like a background character.

This book started out slow, but slowly grew more charming, exciting and fun! I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series, a series which I'm sure will grow into a series just as good as the Vampire Academy!

Book Review: Past Perfect

But with Ezra all too present, and her new crush seeming all too off limits, all Chelsea knows is that she’s got a lot to figure out about love. Because those who don’t learn from the past are doomed to repeat it….

My Thoughts:
Don't judge this book from it's cover! (Not that it is anything wrong with the cover) I did, and this book was not what I expected! What did I expect? Well something funny and a little crazy I guess. What did I get? Something much better than that!

Chelsea had been hoping that she could escape her summer job at Essex Historical Colonial Village, the recreation park where she practically grew up, for a job in a place with air condition. But - against her hopes, she is forced to work there yet another summer. At least her best friend gets a job there as well...

The colonial village might look calm during the days, but at nights when the tourists and grown-ups are long gone, a war is going on between the teenagers working at the Colonial Village - and those working at the Civil War Reenactment-land across the street.

When Chelsea is kidnapped by some Civil War Reenactors the event is the beginning of an ugly war between the two villages where every dirty trick is allowed. But the kidnapping is also the beginning of a forbidden love story between Chelsea and the Civil War reenactor who kidnapped her...
This book had me laughing out loud, smile until my face burst and most of all - left me with a wish of working in a recreation park. All workers seemed to have a blast! Imagine dressing up in gowns which where high-fashion hundreds of years ago, to speak in an old-fashioned way and to say goodbye to all modern technology; cell phones, ovens, zippers - you name it! Sounds interesting and strangely fun, doesn't it?

Book Review: The Pledge

Through a series of violent upheavals, it becomes clear that Charlie herself is the key to forcing out the oppressive power structure of her kingdom….

My Thoughts:

Magic, dystopia, mystery, romance - this novel has it all!

Charlie was a great character. She was caring and loving, but she wasn't weak or stupid. She didn't trust anyone - even if they were hot and charming.

Charlie wasn't the only good character in this book - I liked them all! Protective and noble Max, mysterious and conspiring Xander, the sweet and helpful best friend Aron, and Brooklynn the beautiful girl with hidden depths. Derting made me care for each character, and she made them all likeable and interesting in their own way (Queen Sabara was not likeable of course! She was pure evil, so the feelings I got for her were more like hatred).

Although this is a dystopian novel, that part didn't take overhand. I am sure the great characters and the sweet romance will win readers over - dystopian fans or not!

I liked The Pledge far more than I liked The Body Finder, Derting's first book. And I am already awaiting the sequel, which i'm afraid won't be published until next year at the earliest...

    Of all the classic monsters, vampires have the most visibility and staying power, because they also offer the most opportunity. Zombies seem to be gaining speed, but for the time being vampires are still on top of the heap. Indeed, vampires have often been noted for being attractive, sensual creatures. Edward Cullen has continued that notion. But there are so many more possibilities.

    I once read a vampire titled Blood Road by Edo Van Belkom, which was the first I’d read in which the ugly vampire was tackled. He was the antithesis of the attractive vampire as played by Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Robert Pattinson. His teeth were so broken and sensitive that he had to suck blood through a straw. This vampire might not be breaking any hearts, but he was an interesting change of pace.

    I recently wrote a short vampire story (to be published in a forthcoming collection) in which the vampire fed on human fat rather than blood. In this case, the vampire is symbolic. I wrote the story because I’ve decided to put an end to my weight and eating issues and this is my way of symbolically driving a stake through the heart of those problems once and for all. In this case, the vampire represents the proverbial monkey that’s been on my back for a long time.

    Damien Masonite in The Vampire Way kind of embodies a number of the aforementioned. He’s an attractive teen vampire. However, he isn’t the kind variety. Still, there’s plenty of reason to care about him. He has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders between grieving for the father he’s had to euthanize, and rebuild his family at the age of eighteen. This character is a return to the scary vampire in YA, you could say, but I think it’s a welcome return. Vampires, at their core, are supposed to be scary. Still, there is no question that vampires will always be multi-dimensional. I know Damien Masonite is.

Derek Clendening is the author of The Vampire Way (2011). He also writes paranormal and dark novels and short story collections for adults, as well as YA vampire novels for younger readers.

I like the simplicity and the bright colors of the US cover, the Swedish cover looks pale when you compare the two. On the other hand, I like all the details in the Swedish cover - the instrument, the boy on the skateboard, the photo etc. - and the house looks like it could be Lennie's.

Jordan Woods isn't just surrounded by hot guys, though-she leads them as the captain and quarterback of her high school football team. They all see her as one of the guys, and that's just fine. As long as she gets her athletic scholarship to a powerhouse university. But now there's a new guy in town who threatens her starting position... suddenly she's hoping he'll see her as more than just a teammate.

Sounds good, doesn't it? This one is on my wishlist for Christmas :)

Mini Reviews: The Eternal Ones, The Juliet Spell, Misfit

Dressmaking keeps her sane, since she lives with her widowed and heartbroken mother in her tyrannical grandmother’s house in Snope City, a tiny town in Tennessee. Then an impossible group of coincidences conspire to force her to flee to New York, to discover who she is, and who she was...

I had high hopes for this novel, but sadly it didn't deliver. If I had borrowed this book from the library, I would have returned it right away without finishing it. But as it was, this was the only audio book I had, and I had to listen to something while trying to fall asleep...

If I had to describe this book in one word, it would be confusing. There are parts set in the past, and parts set in the present, and there are several narrators. I had a hard time keeping track of what had happened, and when it had happened.

Another thing I disliked was the religious part of the novel, Haven's grandmother (who was such a mean person!) was very religious, and was certain that Haven had been possessed by the devil. Because of all religion and preachyness I thought this book was set a few decades back, but I don't think it was? Another thing that had me confused in the beginning was Haven's best friend Beau - I couldn't figure out if it was a boy or a girl! haha
This book wasn't for me, but you might like it.

Title: The Juliet Spell

I wanted the role of Juliet more than anything. I studied hard. I gave a great reading for it—even with Bobby checking me out the whole time. I deserved the part.I didn't get it. So I decided to level the playing field, though I actually might have leveled the whole play. You see, since there aren't any Success in Getting to Be Juliet in Your High School Play spells, I thought I'd cast the next best—a Fame spell. Good idea, right?

Yeah. Instead of bringing me a little fame, it brought me someone a little famous. Shakespeare. Well, Edmund Shakespeare. William's younger brother. Good thing he's sweet and enthusiastic about helping me with the play...and—ahem—maybe a little bit hot. But he's from the past. Way past. Cars amaze him—cars! And cell phones? Ugh. Still, there's something about him that's making my eyes go star-crossed....

The Juliet Spell was a fun and light read. If you like theatre, and Shakespeare above all, you're going to love this book!

The main character, Miranda, is so desperate to follow in her mother's footsteps, that she makes a spell in hope of getting the lead role in her high school play. But instead of landing her the role as Juliet the spell gives her Shakespeare, not the Shakespeare but his less-known brother - Edmund.

Edmund was a fun and bubbly character, at times a bit too enthusiastic. He reminded me a little bit of Puck from the Iron Fey series.

This book has theatre, a little bit of history, friendship and a little bit of romance. Sometimes it got a little to theatrical for my taste, with Miranda and her friends using dramatic old-fashioned language, but as I mentioned before, if you're into theatre this might be the book for you!

Title: Misfit

Jael has always felt like a freak. She’s never kissed a boy, she never knew her mom, and her dad’s always been superstrict—but that’s probably because her mom was a demon, which makes Jael half demon and most definitely not a normal sophomore girl. On her sixteenth birthday, a mysterious present unlocks her family’s dangerous history and Jael’s untapped potential.

What was merely an embarrassing secret before becomes a terrifying reality. Jael must learn to master her demon side in order to take on a vindictive Duke of Hell while also dealing with a twisted priest, best-friend drama, and a spacey blond skater boy who may have hidden depths.

This book was something of a roller coaster, it certainly had its ups and downs! I think the idea of Jael being a half demon was interesting and definitely had potential. But instead of focusing on Jael and her destiny I think this story "spaced out" a bit, more than once which made the book thicker, confusing, and harder getting into.

There where some parts of the book that were good, and would have been even better if they had been processed and more developed. And there were some less interesting parts that easily could have been removed.

The characters were also a problem for me, they were all alright - but nothing more than that. And if you don't care too much about the characters, then really, how fun is the book to read?

No one knows where he came from, but Frannie can’t seem to stay away from him.
What she doesn’t know is that Luc is on a mission. He’s been sent from Hell itself to claim Frannie’s soul. It should be easy---all he has to do is get her to sin, and Luc is as tempting as they come. Frannie doesn’t stand a chance. But he has to work fast, because if the infernals are after her, the celestials can’t be far behind. And sure enough, it’s not long before the angel Gabriel shows up, willing to do anything to keep Luc from getting what he came for. It isn’t long before they find themselves fighting for more than just Frannie’s soul.
But if Luc fails, there will be Hell to pay . . . for all of them.

My Thoughts:
I have mixed feelings about this one. Some parts of it was fantastic - original, and dramatic. Other parts were predictable and cheesy. The language were sometimes too flirty and sappy to seem realistic, and I blushed while reading.

Frannie was an alright character, though I couldn't make her very different personal traits fit together into one believable person. On one hand she was flirty and somewhat a player, on the other hand she was a girl who wasn't afraid to get dirty while working on car engines, had lost her faith in God, and was blaming herself for her brother's death.
Overall this was an okay read, but I was expecting more than that, so I got a bit disappointed. I won't walk through fire to get my hand on the sequels.

Book Review: Amy & Roger's Epic Detour

So Amy embarks on a road trip to escape from it all, driving cross-country from the home she's always known toward her new life. Joining Amy on the road trip is Roger, the son of Amy's mother's old friend. Amy hasn’t seen him in years, and she is less than thrilled to be driving across the country with a guy she barely knows. So she's surprised to find that she is developing a crush on him. At the same time, she’s coming to terms with her father’s death and how to put her own life back together after the accident.

Told in traditional narrative as well as scraps from the road—diner napkins, motel receipts, postcards—this is the story of one girl's journey to find herself.

My Thoughts:

I loved this book! It was so sweet and fun. My three favorite ingredients; love, summer and road-trips, where all in there. Seriousness, pain and sorrow where mixed together with love, friendships, easygoingness and laughter into a perfect blend.

Amy and Roger were very likeable and realistic characters, they both had problems and flaws. I loved how they grew close to each other during their road-trip. From barely talking the first time, to sharing their emotions, opinions and thoughts on any matter.

Amy was, as the summary says, devastated about her father's decease, and she was blaming herself for his death. Even if her sorrow always was present in the book, it was far from dominating the story.

The icing on the cake for me was all photos, playlists, receipts and drawings inside the book (see photo above). This definitely added something extra to the book and made Amy and Roger's tour seem even more realistic. What is more, it also made me dying to go on a road trip myself! There are so many places to discover!

I've liked all of Elizabeth Scott's books that I have read so far, but this one sounds a little bit different from them. Interesting!

The Sky Is Everywhere has gotten a lot of praise, and rightfully so.
In this novel Lennie deals with her huge sorrow after her sister's death. Beside her is her flower-crazy grandmother, girl-crazy uncle, her sister's boyfriend Toby, and Joe, the new boy in town.

I'm usually not a fan of "dysfunctional" families, but this family was an exception. They shared love and sorrow, good and bad, and there were so many heart-warming moments in this book.

I absolutely loved all notes Lennie left behind her, it could be a poem about her relationship with her sister or a memory of a random moment they shared together. These memories were written down on papers, old receipts, house walls - any available spot. I feel like we not only got to know Bailey through these notes, but also got to know Lennie a bit better.

If you're looking for a great contemporary read filled with everything from love and happiness to trouble and sorrow, this is the book for you.

Using just the right amount of romance, family drama, and cute boys, The Sweetest Thing will entice fans with its perfect mixture of girl-friendly ingredients.

First off - how I would have loved to see all Sheridan's cakes! Her creations sounded absolutely beautiful! And how fun wouldn't it be to be a cake decorater?

While I was a big fan of Sheridan's cakes, I sadly didn't like her personality as much. She acted a bit too childish - and selfish. I wish she would have been happier for her father's sake, and tried to understand him, and get to know him, a bit better. After all, he was the parent who decided to stay with her and raise her, not the one who ran away and forgot about her.

Sheridan was naive when it came to her mother, she didn't want to see the truth so she pictured her mum as a hero instead, a hero who would come running as soon as Sheridan needed help. So, does Sheridan find her long-lost mother? You have to read the book and see!

For me, this is a race between the US cover and the Swedish cover. The US cover is very beautiful, but would be even better if the girl wasn't cut off. I like the Swedish cover as well, the gold/black combination looks striking. So I leave this one up to you;

Title: Deadly Cool

First I find out that my boyfriend is cheating on me. Then he’s pegged as the #1 suspect in a murder. And now he’s depending on me to clear his name. Seriously?

As much as I wouldn’t mind watching him squirm, I know that he’s innocent. So I’m brushing off my previously untapped detective skills and getting down to business. But I keep tripping over dead bodies and I’m still no closer to figuring out who did it. And what’s worse: all signs seem to point to me as the killer’s next victim.

I really need to pick a better boyfriend next time.

Yay, a YA mystery! There are not too many of those on the market, and this one sounds particulary good.

Then she sees a giant killer fairy - and it's invisible to everyone but her! If Emma has any chance of stopping this evil fairy, she's going to need help. Unfortunately, the only person who can help is Curtis. And now, not only has he stolen her dragon-slayer spot, but maybe her heart as well!

Why does she think it's going to be a fairy bad day?

My Thoughts:

Fairy Bad Day was, just like the title hints, a fun read! Even if it dealt with death and danger, it was a fairly fast and light read.

The main character, Emma, was a really cool girl. She had humour, and was the best of her classmates at slaying supernatural beings. So, naturally she was devestated when she wasn't assigned to the most attractive job as a dragon slayer. Not only because she had most experience in that area, but mostly because her mother was a dragon slayer - until she was killed.

Not only one, but two surprising secrets were revealed near the ending - and they really took me by surprise. Well done, ms Ashby!

Cover Thoughts:

Love it! The outfit, the sword piercing the butterfly (or is it a fairy?) and the girl's pose - just fierce!

First an all-girls school for spies, and now a family full of master thiefs? I don't know where Ally Carter gets her ideas from, but I love her imagination and concepts!

Just like the Gallagher Girl books, this book contains a possible love story - but that is not the main storyline. Heist Society is about so much more - values, friendship, family, and bravery. There is no doubt that Kat is a smart girl, she wouldn't have been able to be a successful thief otherwise, but she also has compassion, wit, courage and integrity.

Heist Society is an adventurous and thrilling read , and I will happily read the sequel (Uncommon Criminals).

Sophie is a down-to-earth heroine who is kindhearted and intelligent.
Luke is a successful business man who likes living a luxury life, but he is suspicious of the people around him, thinking they're after his family's money.

When Sophie and Luke meet, they immediately dislike each other, but with a little help from Luke's grandmother Matilda, these two very different people might end up tolerating each other after all...

Forgive My Fins is definitely a fun read! I loved Lily - she was a hilarious character. She had a short temper, spunk, spirit and humour. She was hilariously bungly, ungraceful and frank. I LOVED Lily's sea slang, she used words like "Blowfish" and "Son of a Swordfish" as foul language. Although Lily was sweet and funny, I found her a bit naive and irritating at times.She was so hung up on the thought that Brody was the love of her life, although she didn't really know him at all. Quince was a great character, and I loved when he called Lily "princess" - so hot!

My Thoughts:

Take a little bit of Narnia, some faerie traits from Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely series and threw in a couple of characters from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Mix it all together, and then season it with an Alice in Wonderland feeling. What do you get? The Iron King of course!

I was a bit reluctant of reading this book at first. True, I had heard great stuff about it, but faeries still weren't my thing. Then an opportunity that was too good to pass up on turned up, to download the book for free. I'm not one to pass up on free books, so I downloaded it right away! But the book stayed unread on my computer, I choose to read other books instead.

Then one day I finally started reading it, only to stop again about 20 pages in. The story seemed a bit too, I don't know, childish, and I once again read other books instead. Then months later I finally got back to it, read past page 20 - and immediately got sucked in in the rich and imaginative story!

Meghan was a good character, a sweet and honest girl although maybe a bit too naive at times. Puck was amusing, and seemed to be on Meghan's side, but again he is a faerie and can therefor not be trusted. Ash was from a rival faerie court, and had his own agenda and plans involving Meghan. He was cold and distant at times, but could be incredibly charming and helpful the next. No wonder this series has divided readers into Team Ash and Team Puck!

Hi y'all!

During the past weeks I have had some problems with blogger, mostly while posting comments and publishing blog posts. Since I'm not too good at this computer stuff, I figured I'd better ask you for advice! Here are my problems:

* Blogger won't allow me to publish comments on blog posts:

I am being asked to log in, which I do, then the following phrase appears: "Your current account does not have access to view this page" and then It's suggested that I publish my comment as Anonymous.

* I'm not able to publish my blog posts. The "publish" button doesn't work, so I have to click save, go back to all posts, select the post I want to publish and then click "publish selected posts" at the bottom of the page.

* When I want to edit my posts after they have been published, neither the "publish" nor the "Save draft" button is working, so there is no way I can save my changes...

* While writing blog posts, I'm not able to select parts of the text (for example select a word and change it to bold, italics etc.)

Does anything of this sound familiar? Do you know how to solve my problems?

Every little bit of help is appreciated - all these problems are starting to get on my nervs!

1. Spell Bound (Hex Hall #3)

Hex Hall was really good and Demonglass was awesome. If this trend continues, Spell Bound is going to be epic!

Ever since the thrilling and chaotic cliffhanger Demonglass left off with, I've been dying to read this third book, and I still have half a year to go until March 2012, and Spell Bound's release!

2. Chain Reaction (Perfect Chemistry #3)

Perfect Chemistry is one of my favorite books of all time, and Chain Reaction isn't too far behind. Still, I haven't had the chance to read the third, and final(?) installment in the series!

3. Strange Fate (Night World #10)

The release date for this book has been pushed back several times, and last time I checked the expected publication date was February 2014 (!)

What do you think, will the people who read this series when it first was published back in the 90s still be waiting by then? I really like this series, and I hope this 10th book will get published!

4. City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments #4)

Read and loved the previous three books, still haven't read this one. Why?

Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find the dead birds her cat had tired of playing with. But now that a serial killer has begun terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he's claimed haunt her daily, she realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.

Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet on her quest to find the murderer—and Violet is unnerved to find herself hoping that Jay's intentions are much more than friendly. But even as she's falling intensely in love, Violet is getting closer and closer to discovering a killer... and becoming his prey herself.

My Thoughts:

I had read a lot of great reviews about not only this book, but the entire series. Needless to say, I wanted to read it too! So I finally got my mind out of the gutter and bought it myself! Did it live up to my high expectations? Not really. But was it a good book? Yes!

Starting off, I think Violet's "talent" was both well-developed and well-explained. She could sense dead bodies, and she didn't come to ease until they rested in peace. I liked how Violet didn't want to play the heroin. In many novels the main character is determined to find and stop the bad guy, even if it they put themselves in danger. Violet on the other hand, was glad and content to be at home, letting the police do their job.

Jay, Violet's best friend, and also the boy she is starting to fall for, was such a great guy! He was really sweet, funny and understanding of Violet's ability. He was there to comfort her, there to cheer her up and there when she needed help. I wish I, and everyone else, could have a best friend like him! :)

All in all, a good and well-written novel with the right amount of mystery, romance, friendship and danger.

I love the concept of an all-girls boarding school for spies, it is so fun! This third book in this series isn't just set at the Gallagher Academy though. It follows Macy's dad political campaign all over America, from city to city. Definitely a nice touch!

Don't Judge a Girl By Her Cover is a fast-paced and fun novel packed with more than a few surprises and twists!

My Thoughts:
Claire de Lune was a fast and easy read with a fresh take on the werewolf mythology.

I did like the idea of all werewolves being female, and that you inherited the gene from your mother. While the werewolves weren't a secret from the society, they were far from liked. When people turned up dead, the blame was soon put on the werewolves, and the hex hunt began...

So when Claire first learns that she is becoming a werewolf, she is less than thrilled! And her stiff relationship with her mother is not helping matters at all. At least she has Matthew. Too bad his dad is the leader of the werewolf hunters! Can you say forbidden romance?

This was a decent story, and I liked how Claire and her mother's relationship developed over time. But the characters felt a bit too plain and undeveloped to me, and I wished they would have been more three-dimensional.

My Thoughts: This book started out a bit creepy with ghosts, demons and shadowy figures, only to get even more creepy and redoubtable near the ending! Some parts really gave me the creeps! (Madison especially, for those of you that have read the book)

This book had every ingredient to make a great and thrilling paranormal read; ghosts, witches, demons, white and back magic, dysfunctional families, a haunted house and a cursed city. I just wished that the writing would have been a bit more polished and structured. There were some jumps between contexts that were a bit confusing. But since Soule is a fairly new and young author with great talent and imagination, there is certainly a promise of even better books to come!

As for Shiloh and Trent's relationship, it developed a bit to quickly for my taste. They met rarely during the first months, but Shiloh still developed strong feelings for him almost immediately. But I couldn't feel an attraction or spark between them.

But dreaming about Seth will have to wait. Something wicked is at work in Seattle's demon underground. And for once, all of her hot charms and drop-dead one-liners won't help because Georgina's about to discover there are some creatures out there that both heaven and hell want to deny...

Since I absolutely love the Vampire Academy series, I've been wanting to try Mead's other books for a long time.

A while ago I got the chance to read Succubues Blues, the first book in her Georgina Kinkaid series. And while it didn't "wow" me as Vampire Academy did, it was still an enjoyable read. Even though the book was okay, I was a bit disappointed - I had expected another amazing series from Mead!

All characters in the book were very likeable, especially Georgina's friends (both humans and supernatural beings - but all of them male). Georgina herself were quite likeable too; down to earth, spunky and spirited.

I did figure out who the killer in Succubus Blues was, but not until the very end (just before Georgina did). And I have to say that Succubus Blues was a fun mix of mystery, suspense, attraction and comedy.

I think the mystery in Succubus On Top was tamer, and didn't feel as serious. The focus were more on Georgina's personal life and carrier, than on her supernatural nature.

I have to admit that I didn't see Seth's appeal at first, but my understandance grew while reading Succubus On Top. He really is a sweet, normal and down-to earth guy. Just what Georgina needs in her extraordinary life!

Lastly, I have to say that there is several differences between Mead's Vampire Academy and Georgina Kinkaid series, these books are marketed as adult books for a reason!
Just because you love the VA books doesn't mean that you will like the Georgina books, and vice versa. I suggest that you borrow the first book from the library, before you buy the whole series on a whim! :)

No. But I’ve always had a morbid fascination with ghosts and haunted houses.

3. If no, would you like to be able to see ghosts? (Personally, I would freak out!)

No way!

4. Talking about Shiloh Ravenwolf, I just love her name! Was it hard to come up with, or was it an easy match?

Good question. I changed her name three times. Actually, I loved the name that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt picked for their daughter—Shiloh. And then I just made up a last name, since Sioux Indians didn’t usually have surnames.

5. Shiloh is very interested in architecture, is that anything that interests you as well? How much of “you” are there in her character and personality?

I love victorian architecture. I dream about victorian homes. It’s weird. Lol
As for my personality, well, I do tend to blurt stuff out without thinking sometimes and I can be snarky.

6. Beautifully Broken is the first book in the Spellbound Series, do you already know how many books you are going to write, and the primary storyline of each book?

About 5, I think. The books are already written, just need to be edited and polished.

7. Lastly, the name Sherry Soule is probably new to most readers, please share some interesting facts about yourself!

I have won numerous awards for my short stories and now write fulltime. I live in San Francisco Bay Area with my family and my black cat, Charm who long ago accepted the fact that I’m not a morning person, rarely cook, and love all things supernatural. Dreams Unleashed synopsis:

2. Where did you get your inspiration for Dreams Unleashed? And why dystopian?
I wrote the final chapter of Dreams Unleashed first, based upon an experience I had. Once I wrote down the experience (in story format), my protagonist, Ann Torgeson, came alive. It was as though she was itching to live on the pages of a book. So much so that I don’t know if I can possibly let her go after the end of the trilogy!
Some of my favorite books are dystopian, as are my favorite movies. I love how the genre is dramatic, usually takes place in the future (like my novel), yet delivers hope. I like the action too.

3. The name Linda Hawley is probably new to most readers, please share some interesting facts about yourself!
I've sailed the San Juan Islands (which I wrote about in Dreams Unleashed).
I've kayaked from one island to another in the Carribean.
I've been to a Christmas party at the White House, and on Air Force One.
I am wild about organic gardening, have a huge garden, and even make my own hardneck garlic powder.

4. Dreams Unleashed is your first book, have you always known that you wanted to become an author?
It all started with a bookmobile! No kidding. Our family didn’t have much money (and zero allocated towards spending gas money to drive to the library, or buying books), so I would borrow books from the bookmobile that would regularly visit our neighborhood. I fell in love with Nancy Drew, and I bet I read most of the books in that bookmobile! I think that was when I really started to appreciate the written word.
I have been writing, however, since I was about five. I started by writing poems. (Early next year ten volumes of my poetry will be published.)
I have been a storyteller my whole life, and to be an author was my dream. It just took me a while to get published!

5. Dreams Unleashed is a dystopian book, set in 2015. How do you think the world will look like in say 2050?
I am a writer of the near-future, because I like to take current technology and apply it several years into the future. I cannot possibly imagine 2050! : /

1.Please tell us about your upcoming read The Septavalent Stone!
The Septavalent Stone is a young adult novel set in two countries, Nigeria and Ukraine. It's about a boy called Andrew, who has a mother who is paranoid about almost everything including her brother Uncle Jeffery, and who is also not as normal as other mothers are. He gains admission into a medical school in Ukraine but on getting there, he discovers it's not just a medical school, it's actually a medico-magical school where all sorts of creatures are treated, ghosts are kept dead and healthy. As the story unfolds, Andrew discovers new secrets about his family and himself, he also discovers a cousin he never knew existed, and realizes that there is more to his mother's lies and paranoia than meets the eyes.

2.The name Jacob Jones is probably new to most readers, share some facts about yourself!
I am a humble Nigerian boy just looking to have a good time doing what I can and like, writing. While I am not writing though, I am studying to become a medical doctor. I am obsessed with anything magic related, mythology related and superstitious beliefs, folk-tales paranormal stufffs without the romance bit. I am also a good Christian.

3. You just graduated from college, and are pretty young for being a writer. Have you always known that you wanted to become an author?
I have always loved writing, it was only recently though that I knew that anyone could get published, I mean I always thought that to get your book in print, you must have done something extraordinary or you needed to be really rich and know a lot of top people.

4. The Septavalent Stone is filled with magic and supernatural beings, do you belive in any supernatural creatures like ghosts or vampires?
1.Yes, as a matter of fact I do believe in the supernatural but in a moderate kind of way. I don't believe in ghosts however, or vampires, and if I ever see any of them, I seriously think it'll be the scariest day for them. I do believe in angels on the other hand.

Okay, maybe that was a bit melodramatic, but I’m sorry, I’m feeling a bit melodramatic at the moment.

(Note to self: Chew the melon before swallowing it.) I even let them decide who I dated!

Well, it turns out there are some things in life you simply can’t choose or have chosen for you—like who you fall in love with. And now everything’s more screwed up than ever.

But don’t take my word for it, read the book and decide for yourself. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll scream in frustration. Or maybe that’s just me. After all, it’s my life.

Jessica Brody is one author I've always wanted to try, but never have. Perhaps this is the book which changes that?

My Thoughts:
Nyx in the House of Night is a rich and comprehensive guide into the mythology, folklore and religion in the House of Night series. Several authors, some more famous than others, have contributed with their stories about everything from vampires, goddesses and wiccans to tattoos!

I was surprised with how well-researched and well-written all the stories were. I could tell that all participating authors had put a lot of effort and work into their contributions - they certainly hadn't been written in a day! Some of my favorite stories included P.C Cast's interesting tale about her research trips in Ireland, and Jana Oliver's lighter story about the history of tattoos.

On the negative side, I felt like some of the stories tended to go on for too long, which sadly made me lose interest in what the author was telling...

Overall, an impressive and interesting collection which digs deep into to rich mythology and religion in the House of Night series. A must read if you are a big fan of the series, or interested in folklore, mythology or history in general!

Book Review: Strange Angels

Then her dad turns up dead—but still walking—and Dru knows she’s next. Even worse, she’s got two guys hungry for her affections, and they’re not about to let the fiercely independent Dru go it alone. Will Dru discover just how special she really is before coming face-to-fang with whatever—or whoever— is hunting her?

My Thoughts:

I've been wanting to read this book for years! So naturally my expectations was super high before I started the book. So, did this story live up to my expectations? Well, no. Strange Angels definitely had the first-book-in-a-series syndrome, with focus on building Dru's world. But I think this series has potential to be great!

Dru was a tough girl, no doubt about it. And I loved that she wasn't all fight and kill, she had a softer more human side, and she wasn't afraid of crying and showing her emotions.

Overall, a decent book with interesting characters. A good start of a series with potential to be great!

Abby´s firm belief that Tess was so much better, more beautiful and popular were quite tiring to say the truth. I wished that she would have listened more to the people around her, and believed more in herself.

A realistic, raw and emotional read, but not my favorite Elizabeth Scott book.

My Thoughts:

Sometimes It Happens is a great summer read! And by far my favorite book among those featured in this post!

I have to say that Noah is perfect boyfriend material! He is such a sweet and caring guy! A nice change from the popular "bad boy" in young adult books today.

My Thoughts:

It was quite interesting to read a book set at a summer camp, since I have no experiences of camp myself. I also liked reading about the three sisters and their complicated relationship.

Other than that, I didn't feel like this book had anything "special", it's probably more suited for younger teens.

The ending (who weren't happy for everyone) felt realistic, but also sad.

Book Review: The Lost Saint

My Thoughts:

The Lost Saint may be even more dramatic than it's predecessor! Mystery, murder and werewolves are mixed with drama, romance and doubt, into a fast-paced novel with non-stop action.

Grace and Daniel's roles as human and werewolf have been switched in this novel, which obviously caused both jealousy, desperation, problems and huge fights between those two.

As the wolf inside Grace grows, she slowly learns how to use her new abilities; like speed, strength and great hearing. But along with Grace's new super powers comes the voice of the wolf inside her head. A wolf who is encouraging her to fight, murder, take revenge and make bad decisions...

I didn't like The Lost Saint as much as I loved The Dark Divine, mostly because of the way Grace's personality changed under the influence of the wolf. I was mad at her for making such bad decisions and being so mean and suspicious of the people around her!

Out For Blood is the third book in the Drake Chronicles. And it is just as fun and charming and fast-paced as the previous books in the series!

Hunter Wild is the youngest in a long line of vampire hunters, and has always been told that vampires are up to no good. But since her friend Kieran is dating Solaigne Drake, the youngest in the royal Drake family, Hunter gets a chance to meet the Drake family and realizes that not all vampires are bad. In fact, they can be quite charming and good-looking!

When a mysterious drug causes death and sickness among the students at the Helios-Ra academy, Hunter is forced to find an unexpected ally in the flirty Quinn Drake.

Filled with flirty romance, kick-ass fighting, and more than one big mystery Out For Blood is a fun and unputdownable read!

Book Review: Nightshade

My Thoughts:

Nightshade is a 2010 debut novel that I have heard lots of great things about, so needless to say I was really excited to read it! (Or actually listen to it, since I borrowed is as an audio book). While the story didn't blow my mind, I rather enjoyed it.

Calla is a guardian - half human and half wolf - destined to protect sacred sites from Searchers (the enemy). Calla and the other werewolves are watched over by Watchers, humans who make sure the wolves are doing their job.

Calla had never thought about her lack of freedom or free will, not until she met the human Shay, who made her question everything she had been told since childhood.

Torn between the things Shay tell her, and the things she has known since childhood, and mostly torn between Shay - the human, and Ren - the alpha male she is destined to mate, Calla is more confused than ever. But know is not the time to be confused, not when her mating with Ren is only weeks away...

I thought the wolf aspects of the book was alright, and Cremer was brave not to make the guardians too human. There are in fact several scenes when Calla is in true wolf form and hunts down animals, only to devour their still warm blood and flesh afterwards.

The love triangle between Calla, Shay and Ren felt realistic as well. Calla instantly connected with Shay, and mostly saw Ren as a to-be mate - she didn't love him but she accepted him.

Yet, Calla defended Ren with hands and teeth when she talked with Shay, and when she talked with Ren she defended Shay, she just couldn't seem to make up her mind! I found it quite irritating, to tell you the truth. Calla wasn't my favorite character in the book.

I actually didn't like Shay very much either, he was too stubborn and selfish, and didn't think about how his actions would affect not only Calla, but her whole community.

Ren, on the other hand, was interesting! He was funny, kind and had great alpha qualities. While he sometimes came across as brutal, you could tell that he really cared about Calla. So definitely Team Ren here!

Another favorite character of mine was Calla's younger brother, Ansel. He was so funny and loved to tease Calla, and I found it so sweet when he got together with another pack member!

Overall, an enjoyable read. But the inside of the book isn't as beautiful as its cover!

Big failure. For me this is a movie that tried way too hard to be funny, and the "comical" situations ended up awkward and emberassing instead.
I expected more of Vaughn and Witherspoon!

Highlights: Aniston's son, I liked that we didn't meet him until he was seven years old, and had his own personality. Lowlights: The rushed ending.

Action, romance and comedy. While Alex Pettyfer was very hot, my favorite character was the tough number 6, played by Teresa Palmer.

Mamma Mia! (2008)

This star-filled musical movie is such a feelgood story! I've watched it several times, and the catchy music and dancing routines never get boring.

My Thoughts:
Since I love the Mortal Instruments series by the same author, I was really excited to read The Clockwork Angel. The Clockwork Angel is the first book in a new trilogy, The Infernal Devices, which also serves a prequel series to the Mortal Instruments.

Not surprisingly, my expectations for this book was huge. Therefore I am sad to say that the book was a bit of a disappointment. The plot wasn't as fast-paced as the Mortal Instruments book, and the characters Tessa, Will and James felt like plainer and paler versions of the main characters in the Mortal Instruments. Will, in particular felt like a less-charming Jace.

In true Cassandra Clare style there is a hint of a love triangle between Tessa, Will and James. But if you're hoping for hot make-out scenes you've got the wrong book. I know this story is set in the Victorian era and that things were very different then - but come on Cassandra, give us some romance, some passion! (Two tiny kisses in 475 pages is definitely not juicy enough!)

My Thoughts:
Before I started reading this book, I had no idea what to expect. I know that there were going to be a lake, with a dead girl in it, and also a boy. That was pretty much it. But I must have had some expectations before starting it, because it didn't turn out the way I had expected.

For me, this isn't the best debut book this year (I've been spoiled by reading so many great ones!), but it is a decent book.

The story didn't engage me as much as I had hoped, and the danger didn't feel as dangerous as it should have. The reason for this is perhaps the characters, who felt a bit distant.

What I did like about this book however, is Amelia's development. At first she is a ghost trapped in a nightmarish between-life, with no memories of her life before her death.

But as she gets to know Joshua she's slowly discovering hidden memories of her mortal life, as well as new powers in her after-life. Which brings both the reader and Amelia on an emotional and raw road for remembrance and understanding.

My Thoughts:

Shadow Souls is the sixth book in the Vampire Diaries series, and the second book in the "The Return" trilogy. If you are a long time follower you might remember that I absolutely hated the first book in this new trilogy (Nightfall). While Shadow Souls is no masterpiece, at least I could finish it without suffering to much! ;)

Truth be told, I thought the first half of the book was pretty good. Who wouldn't want to be a secret passenger in a car with Damon and Elena?

But as soon as they arrived in the underworld, things begun to spin out of control and became weirder and weirder. Kitsungjays, slaves and other supernatural starts to degenerate and the story loosed focus once more.

Even if finding the fox keys was necessary in order to free Stefan, I wish Elena's road to get the keys would have been shorter and straighter. With so many sidetracks and stops, I almost forgot that Elena was in the underworld to free Stefan, not to defend slaves.

And I don't think I was the only one forgetting about Stefan, Elena spent so much caring for Damon that she almost forgot about her boyfriend! Don't get me wrong, Damon was definitely likeable! He started out this series as a dangerous bloodthirsty vampire, but is now gentler and cares about other people than himself. He would do anything to protect Elena an keep her happy. Elena is another person whose character has developed over time. From being a mean, self-centered girl, to a pure and angelic soul, she is now less egocentric and sweeter. She deeply cares for other people, and does anything to help them get a better life.

My Thoughts:
Bleed You Dry centers around Roman, a brooding and lonely vampire, and Emma, a human girl Roman befriends after saving her from a terrible fate.

Initially Roman doesn't want a relationship with Emma, but at the same time he can't seem to stay away. While he is hiding the fact that he is a vampire from her, they quickly become friends and everything is great until Emma suddenly becomes ill. And as they say; when it rains it pours. Myra, a dangerous vampire from Roman's past shows up soon after that, not to happy about Roman's new friend and determined to kill...

This story is told from both Emma and Roman's points of view, and this style was definitely rewarding for the story and kept it moving forward in a steady pace. Emma was a funny and lighthearted person with a deep love for books, movies and TV.

Roman was more of a loner and enjoyed staying at home reading poetry. He was taciturn, guarded and brooding. Only natural if you have lived for centuries!

Because of Emma's love of pop culture, this book is full of pop-culture references - which I loved! Everything from Twilight and True Blood, to Alias and Brangelina were mentioned. Which of course confused the poor, old vampire!

Overall: a funny story with a couple of likeable characters. With only ~150 pages this is a quick read, but it still contains a large amount of important events in both Emma and Roman's life.

Favorite quotes:
"There were no humans that night. There was no prey or death or monstrosities to speak of. There was only Emma, and me, and for the briefest of moments, on the shortest of nights, I forgot I yearned for blood."

"It was the same old, tired song and dance. The brooding vampire, afraid to love and spoiled by the possibility that they could wallow in misery forever."

1. Tomorrow When The War Began (2010)

When their country is invaded and their families are taken, eight unlikely high school teenagers band together to fight

I love the Tomorrow books by James Marsden (read them, if you haven't!), and was so excited when I heard that they were going to be turned into movies. The actors Australian accent was a bit unusual to hear in the beginning, but I got over it pretty quickly. The characters were not as I had imagined them, but it worked alright. I can't wait for the next movie, I have a feeling it's going to have more action, more love and suspense!

2. Mean Girls 2 (2011)

Johanna "Jo" Mitchell is a 17-year-old tomboy, who lives with her father, who works as a race car driver for NASCAR. The first day of school, she explains that she wants to avoid high school drama. Then she is introduced to the school's most popular clique, "The Plastics"...

Actors: Meaghan Martin, Diego Boneta, Maiara Walsh

Living up to the greatness of the original Mean Girl movie starring Lindsay Lohan proved to be a too hard task for this remake. I liked Meaghan Martin as Jo though, the main character, a down to earth tomboy.

3. Letters To Juliet (2010)

An American girl on vacation in Italy finds an unanswered "letter to Juliet" -- one of thousands of missives left at the fictional lover's Verona courtyard, which are typically answered by a the "secretaries of Juliet" -- and she goes on a quest to find the lovers referenced in the letter.

I really liked this one! It was so much more than just another romantic movie. It had depth, and a great love story which stretched over decades. I teared up more than once! Vanessa Redgrave was amazing.

5. Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009)

When Sid's attempt to adopt three dinosaur eggs gets him abducted by their real mother to an underground lost world, his friends attempt to rescue him.

Voices: Queen Latifah, Ray Romano, John Leguizamo

Ehm no. I'm not one of those people who love animated movies, so I didn't love this one even if it had its funny moments!

6. The Back-Up Plan (2010)

A romantic comedy centered on a woman who conceives twins through artificial insemination, only to meet the man of her dreams on the very same day.

Actors: Jennifer Lopez, Alex O´Loughlin

This movie doesn't offer anything unique, and the story has certainly been told before. I like O´Loughlin though.

7. Miss Secret Agent (2000)

An FBI agent must go undercover in the Miss United States beauty pageant to prevent a group from bombing the event.

Quite funny - and Bullock's transformation to dorky tomboy to beauty queen is amazing!

8. Beverly Hills Chihuahua (2008)

My Thoughts:

I hadn't read anything about this book, except for the summary above, before I started reading it. And since the summary isn't too spoilery I didn't quite know what to expect.

Early on we learn that Helen isn't an ordinary human, she is much stronger and faster. She also has vivid nightmares and sees things other people don't see. Is she going crazy? And why is she so strong?

Eventually the truth behind Helen's abilities are revealed - both to Helen and to the reader. I really appreciated the fact that this wasn't spoiled beforehand, but remained a mystery for a while.

Speaking about Helen - I didn't quite like her in the beginning. She was a bit wimpish, and too insecure. She tried to hide her length and beauty from other people, so they wouldn't look at, or notice, her. But when the Deos family moves to her small island, that changes instantly. Helen is no longer hiding in the background, no she is determined to kill Lucas Deos. Why? She has no idea...

I really liked the Deos family. There were quite a few family members to keep track of, but everyone stood out in their own way. The Deos that caught my attention the most were Lucas, Hector and Jason. Lucas was safe, compassionate and strong, Jason was such a nice and friendly guy and Hector went from being a dangerous enemy to one of my favorite characters!

I won't reveal who the paranormal beings in this book are - or what they are. But I can honestly say that I loved the mythology. The historical aspects were interesting, and made great sense.

Overall an amazing, well-written and well-researched debut novel, and one of my favorite books so far this year. I definitely recommend reading it!

My Thoughts:
The world Oliver has created is interesting and new-thinking. The Demon Trapper's Daughter is set in 2018, after a huge economic crises has left the world in ruins. Demons are now popping up all over the world, and it is the trappers' and hunters' job to capture them.

For Riley and her father, trapping demons are the only way to earn enough money to pay the rent for their beat-down apartment. But life as a female, newby demon trapper turns out harder than Riley thought. Some guildmembers are just waiting for a reason to throw her out, so there is no room for mistakes...

Then there's Beck, Riley's father's apprentice who takes every chance he gets to get on her nerves. It's a good thing that at least cute Simon, another trapper, is on her side! And then there is the mysterious Ori who pops up when she leasts expects it... But with so much going on, does Riley even have time for boys?

Beck may come across as a selfish, kind of rude Southern bad boy who couldn't care less about anything but himself - but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Since some chapters are told from Beck's point of view, the reader gets too see a softer, more humble side of him as well as learning about his nackground and the reasons for why he acts like he does. I liked him!

Even though this is a thick book (400+ pages), it's over just when things starts to get interesting! I wanted more Beck! More Ori! Even more Simon! More demons and more trapping! Things were just about to get even more exciting, and then: The End :(

I hope (and believe) that this book works as a neccessary and thorough introduction to Riley's world, and that the next book in the series will have more action and a faster pace!

Cover Thoughts:
This book not only has different titles in the US and the UK, it also have different covers. I decided to buy the UK edition of the book (pictured), since I like this cover better. The girl on the cover definitely looks tough enough to be a demon trapper!

Title: Jane Jones: Worst. Vampire. Ever.

For Jane Jones, being a vampire is nothing like you read about in books. In fact, it kind of sucks. She's not beautiful, she's not rich, and she doesn't "sparkle." She's just an average, slightly nerdy girl from an ordinary suburban family (who happens to be vampires.) Jane's from the wrong side of the tracks (not to mention stuck in the world's longest awkward phase), so she doesn't fit in with the cool vampire kids at school or with the humans kids. To top it all off, she's battling an overprotective mom, a clique of high school mean girls (the kind who really do have fangs), and the most embarrassing allergy in the history of the undead, she's blood intolerant.

So no one's more surprised than Jane when for the first time in her life, things start to heat up (as much as they can for a walking corpse, anyway) with not one, but two boys. Eli's a geeky, but cute real-live boy in her history class, and Timothy is a beautiful, brooding bloodsucker, who might just hold the key to a possible "cure" for vampirism.

Facing an eternity of high school pressure, fumbling first dates, or a mere lifetime together with Timothy, what's a 90-something year-old teen vampire to do?

This book sounds hilarious! And Jane is definitely not your normal vampire!

Trista uses everyone to get what she wants. She has a well developed plan, and outsmarts everyone. Mean and smart!

I really can't stand this toad!

Karen Sue is such a pain in the a**! She's a Miss Goody Two-Shoes who never misses an opportunity to rat Jess out. Her behaviour really makes you want to punch her (which Jess thankfully does!)

7. Blair Waldorf - Gossip Girl

I don't think anyone has missed this Mean Girl!

We'll Always Have Summer is a satisfying, mostly frustrating, conclusion to the Summer series.

While I read I changed between being furious with, and annoyed by, Belly (for being so naive and stubborn), Jeremiah (for being too immature and easy-going) and Conrad (for being Conrad - reserved, distant and quiet).

These people all made some choices I couldn't agree with, but in the end their story turned out alright.

This isn't my favorite book in the series, but it was an alright conclusion to the series which I believe will make most Summer fans happy.

I read 13 Little Blue Envelopes somewhat two years ago, and while I didn't remember all of it, I remembered the essential moments and the fact that I enjoyed reading it!

So I didn't think twice when I got the chance to read this book. It was an opportunity to find out about the last envelope, and see which adventures it took Ginny on this time.

Old cities, new cities - old friends and new friends. Ginny is in for another memorable adventure throughout Europe.

Keith, Ginny's may-be boyfriend, plays a big role in this book as well. While he is funny at times, I found him to be a bit immature and selfish. These not-so good personal traits is shining through even more clearly in this book.

I like how the love interests in this book aren't your regular hot boys, but boys with faults and not too striking appearances. Most guys in real life aren't perfect after all!

I'm glad that Ginny finally got her happy ending, after two adventures like these she sure deserved it!

I have read soo many great reviews of this book, but yet haven't picked it up until now.

So have I missed out on something extraordinary?
No, I don't think so.

I'm a very emotional person, so I expected to bawl my eyes out while reading If I Stay. Surprisingly, that didn't happen! Since Mia was so distant and unemotional herself, so was I while reading. I only teared up once - when Mia's grandfather visited her in the hospital.

The story wasn't the most original one (I have read a story just like it - where a boy was in a coma), but what really stood out was Mia's family. Her family members were very close to eachother, sharing and caring.

Mia and Adam's relationship felt natural and realistic. Their road wasn't always smooth and full of love, no they had their problems and doubts.

Overall a decent read, but it didn't blow my mind.

My Review:
My thoughts right after finishing this book:
Oh My God, Oh My God, Oh My God! When is the next book coming out*? And can someone please give it to me now?!!

My thoughts after I had cooled down a bit:
You might have read this in other reviews, and I can only agree with the statement: This is one of the rare cases when the second book is even better than the first book in the series!

Sophie is such a likeable character, who possesses the wonderful talent to make a joke in any situation. Even the most stiff person can't resist her charming personality and cracks a smile sooner or later! She really is the Queen of Sarcasm and Irony!

The love triangle between Sophie and Archer and Cal is slowly building up. Even though Sophie tries to forget about Archer, she still likes him even if he is part of The Eye. But he is her enemy, isn't he?

While Archer is nowhere to be seen, Cal is more present in Sophie's life, and we get to see new sides of him while getting to know him better.

Demonglass has it all; great characters, hot boys, deadly enemies and a big mystery. And it ends on the maddest cliff-hanger ever! (seriously, Rachel Hawkins and Richelle Mead could make a club!**)

Cover Thoughts:
I really like how the designer have kept the theme from the cover of Hex Hall. One of my biggest pet-peeves is mix matching covers! (Like the UK covers of these two books). While the Hex Hall cover is cute and innocent, this cover is way fiercer. The events Sophie had to go through during her first year in Hecate Hall has definitely made her tougher!

Rating: 5 of 5 - I loved it and can't wait to read the next book!

I read once that water is a symbol for emotions. And for a while now, I've thought maybe my mother drowned in both.

It's bad enough that she has to leave her friends and her life behind, but her dad is moving them to the beach where her parents first met and fell in love- a place awash in memories that Anna would just as soon leave under the surface.

While life on the beach is pretty great, with ocean views and one adorable lifeguard in particular, there are also family secrets that were buried along the shore years ago. And the ebb and flow of the ocean's tide means that nothing- not the sea glass that she collects on the sand and not the truths behind Anna's mother's death- stays buried forever.

Great synopsis and a beautiful cover (is it the adorable lifeguard I see?) - this book sounds worth waiting for!
